TrackSiteChanges Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 27, 2025
At TrackSiteChanges (https://tracksitechanges.io), your privacy is a core part of our product design. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how AI is involved in comparisons, and the choices you have.
1. What We Collect
- Account Data: Email address and authentication data when you sign up or sign in. Used to secure your account and provide service.
- Billing Data: If you purchase a plan, limited billing details are processed by our payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Scanned Content You Provide: URLs you track and the resulting artifacts we generate (e.g., screenshots, HTML/metadata snapshots, JSON-LD extracts, comparison results, and AI summaries).
- Support & Communications: Messages you send us (email, forms). We keep these to respond and improve the service.
- Usage & Device Data: Product analytics such as pages viewed, features used, approximate location (from IP), and technical logs for performance and security.
- Local/Session Storage: Client-side preferences (e.g., dismissed prompts) stored in your browser for UX only.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide core features like scheduled scans, visual diffs, metadata comparisons, alerts, and your dashboard.
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and maintain platform security and reliability.
- Improve and analyze the product, including feature adoption and performance.
- Process payments, account changes, and customer support requests.
- Send service emails (e.g., alerts, receipts, critical notices). You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time.
3. How We Use AI
TrackSiteChanges uses AI/ML models to assist with comparisons and summaries. This includes highlighting visual differences between screenshots, comparing metadata (titles, descriptions, headings, structured data), and generating short human-readable summaries of changes.
- Inputs: Snapshots and text derived from the URLs you choose to track may be sent to AI services to produce comparisons/summaries.
- Providers: We may use third-party AI processors (for example, model providers or hosting platforms). We contractually require them not to use your inputs or outputs to train public models and to protect your data.
- Safety: We limit what is sent to what is necessary for the requested feature and retain results in your account history for your use.
4. Web Scanning Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the URLs you add. Only track pages you have a lawful basis to monitor.
- Do not use TrackSiteChanges to access content behind logins, paywalls, or technical restrictions without permission.
- Respect third-party terms, robots directives, and intellectual property. If we receive a valid complaint or takedown request, we may remove related data and/or suspend scanning.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted vendors to run the service. These providers process limited data under their own privacy terms:
- Hosting & Database (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud) for authentication, storage of snapshots/screenshots, and app data.
- Payments (e.g., Stripe) for subscriptions and invoicing.
- Email (e.g., SendGrid or equivalent) to deliver alerts and transactional messages.
- Analytics (e.g., privacy-respecting product analytics and/or GA4) to improve reliability and UX.
- AI/Model Providers to perform comparisons and generate summaries as described above.
We share only what is necessary to provide the feature and require appropriate safeguards and confidentiality.
6. Cookies, Analytics & Do Not Track
We use essential cookies (or equivalent storage) for login and security. We may use analytics cookies or similar technologies to understand feature usage. Your browser may send “Do Not Track” signals; we currently do not respond to DNT due to industry standards, but you can control cookies in your browser and within our app settings where available.
7. Data Retention
- Screenshots, diffs, and metadata snapshots are retained for the life of your account to power history and comparisons, unless you delete them.
- Support emails and logs are typically retained for up to 24 months, unless we need them longer for security, legal, or accounting reasons.
- You can request deletion at any time; see “Your Rights” below.
8. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process: (a) account and service data to perform our contract with you; (b) usage and security data under our legitimate interests to provide a secure, reliable service; (c) marketing with your consent where required; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
9. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing (e.g., marketing).
- California residents: we do not “sell” personal information as defined by CCPA/CPRA. You can request disclosure or deletion of personal information.
To exercise rights, contact support@tracksitechanges.io. We may need to verify your identity before acting on requests.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices). No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
11. International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in the United States, Canada, the EU, or other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.
12. Children’s Privacy
TrackSiteChanges is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Affiliate Disclosure
We may recommend tools, software, or hosting. Some links may be affiliate links, which could earn us a commission at no additional cost to you.
14. Law Enforcement, Compliance & Business Transfers
- We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
15. Your Privacy Choices
You can request deletion or export of your personal data at any time by contacting support@tracksitechanges.io. You may also delete your account from the dashboard. For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link or contact us.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will post updates here with a new effective date and, where required, notify you.
